Will Bjarnar • Editor-in-Chief
Will is a senior studying Journalism and Sports Communication, with a minor in Cinema Studies. Most recently, he interned in New York City with CBS News. He also has intern experience at ESPN Radio Rochester, and is currently a member of the Society of Professional Journalists. His personal feature blog covers all sports, as well as pop culture. In the future, Will aspires to edit, write, and host a podcast. But first, Pearl Jam.
Lily Caffrey-Levine • Deputy Editor-in-Chief
Center Field didn’t need Zip Recruiter to find Lily, but they could have! Lily is a senior Sports Communication and Journalism major. After studying abroad in Florence, Italy, she decided to take up minors in Political Science and Global Studies, and is now a member of the Ski Team and the Marist chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Growing up in the bustling sports scene in Boston, her love for sports has extended into reporting. Lily has previously interned in the digital department at NBC Sports.
Daniel Statile • Copy Editor, Social Media Director • Men’s Soccer Beat Writer
Daniel is a senior studying Business Administration-Marketing while minoring in Sports Communication. He covers the New York Red Bulls for Last Word on Sports and is active on campus as an Ambassador and Tour Guide.
Jess King • Managing Editor
Jess King is a senior Sports Communication major with a minor in Business at Marist College. She’s currently interning with SportsGrid Network as a productions intern. She has worked with Marist Athletics since her freshman year. Jess is originally from New York City, but currently resides in Long Beach, New York. In her free time, she enjoys runs on the boardwalk and relaxing on the beach with a good book.
Bridget Reilly • Associate Editor
Bridget is a sophomore from Yardley, Pennsylvania. She is currently a Communications major with interests in concentrating in sports communication, public relations, and journalism. Bridget is also a Marist Ambassador and enjoys spending her weekends competing on the Marist Ski Team.
Amelia Nick • Assistant Editor
Amelia is a senior from Vermont studying Public Relations and Art History. She grew up skiing and snowboarding and is now a captain of the Marist Ski Team. She is also a member of the Freshman Year Abroad mentor program and Art History Club.
Kristin Flanigan • Co-Multimedia Director, Graphic Designer
Kristin is a junior at Marist College pursuing a degree in Communications Advertising with a minor in Graphic Design. Born and raised in New York City, she has a passion for both viewing and creating art. As she studies at Marist, she hopes to bring this creativity into her studies and one day into the workplace.

Sabrina is a junior pursuing a degree in Communication Advertising with a minor in Digital Video Production. She grew up in Maui, Hawaii but loves living in New York. She is very passionate about the environment and hopes to one day work as a video editor.

Dave is a junior at Marist College majoring in sports communication with a minor in business. He is a captain of the Marist Club Ultimate Frisbee team and loves basketball and soccer. He has previously interned for Martinelli Custom Publishing and hopes to get a journalistic or sports business internship soon.

Alex is a junior Sports Communication major. Prior to Marist, he covered soccer for his high school newspaper. Slated to travel to Russia for the World Cup, Alex aspires to cover soccer professionally one day.

Nick, a junior, studies Sports Communication. He’s been in love with sports since day one, and hopes to eventually find himself in the broadcast booth.

Brett is a junior at Marist College majoring in sports communication and minoring in business. He has a passion for sports, as well as telling stories about athletes. Co-host of a weekly football podcast, talking sports is one of his favorite pastimes. In the future he hopes to get a job in the business side of sports.

Mitch is a junior Sports Communication major at Marist College from Ivoryton, Conn. His dream job is to have his own sports talk show and do commentating for various sports. Mitch’s role models in the sports broadcasting industry are Chris Collinsworth and Scott Van Pelt. Mitch has teamed up with Center Field staff writer Brett Middleton to produce a weekly NFL Podcast.

Kelsey is a senior pursuing a degree in Political Science while minoring in Sports Communication. She currently serves as the assistant manager of the Men’s Club Hockey team, and hopes to write about one of her favorite New York sports teams in the future.

Carter is a junior Sports Communication major from Honolulu with additional interest in business. He would love the opportunity to work in the sports industry, especially at the University of Hawai’i or for one of his favorite teams: the Yankees, Lakers, or Broncos.

Rob is a senior at Marist studying Sports Communication and Public Relations with a minor in Digital Video Production. He recently interned with MLB Advanced Media and one day hopes to work in the sports industry. Rob is also the proud founder of the Marist club baseball team.
Allison Smith • Photographer
Allison is a junior at Marist, majoring in Advertising and Math with a minor in Photography. She has additional experience in both photography in writing with The Circle and was the photographer for her high school’s lacrosse and soccer teams.

Ian is a sophomore at Marist, studying Sports Communication and minoring in Digital Media. He has always had a passion for sports; particularly, an undying love for Boston sports.
Leander Schaerlaeckens • Faculty Advisor
Leander Schaerlaeckens is a Professional Lecturer in Sports Communication at Marist and serves as the faculty advisor to Center Field. He’s also the soccer columnist at Yahoo Sports and previously worked at ESPN and FOX Sports. His writing has appeared in the New York Times and ESPN The Magazine and was twice noted in the Best American Sports Writing anthology.
