Jonathan is a senior Communications major with concentrations in Sports Communications and Journalism and a minor in History. He loves writing long-form stories but he also has a soft spot for a good opinion piece. Being from Syracuse, he is a tortured Orange basketball fan and also stands by the fact that Poughkeepsie is not even close to Upstate New York.
Ricardo Martinez-Paz • Deputy Editor-in-Chief
Ricardo is a senior from Princeton, New Jersey, studying Sports Communication and Journalism with a minor in Psychology. His favorite teams are the Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia 76ers, and Real Madrid and hopes to work for or cover one of these teams in the future or work for ESPN.
Andrew Hard • Managing Editor • Football Beat Writer
Andrew is a senior Communications major with concentrations in Sports Communications and Journalism and a minor in Business. He is also a native of the Hudson Valley, hailing from Putnam Valley, New York. He joined during his junior year, writing feature stories on athletes across multiple sports, and is also the co-host of Center Field’s podcast, “The Relay Throw,” with Dan Aulbach. Andrew is a New York sports fan of the Yankees, Knicks, Giants, and Rangers variety, which everyone knows is the best combo.

Dan Aulbach • Associate Editor • Volleyball Beat Writer
Dan is a sophomore from Brookline, New Hampshire majoring in Communications with a concentration in Sports Communications and a minor in Data Science and Analytics. Dan covers the women’s volleyball beat and is back for his second season of “The Relay Throw”, the premier Center Field podcast. Dan is an advocate for New England sports and reiterates constantly that the Red Sox have the most championships in the 21st century.

Luke Sassa • Assistant Editor • Men’s Soccer Beat Writer
Luke is a sophomore from Matawan, New Jersey, majoring in Communications with a concentration in Sports Communications, in addition to minoring in Data Science & Analytics. He joined as a freshman, writing feature stories and covering numerous sports; he now covers the men’s soccer team. Aside from writing for Center Field, Luke also serves on the board of Maristat, Marist’s sports analytics club. He is a passionate sports fan, with his favorite teams being the New York Mets and the New York Giants.

Isabella Cicinelli • Assistant Editor
Isabella is a senior Communications and History double major with a concentration in Sports Communications from Yorktown Heights, New York. Isabella joined Center Field during her sophomore year, reporting for the men’s lacrosse team and also serves as secretary for the Women’s Club Lacrosse team. She also works on the MCTV sports segment, “Halftime on the Hudson.” Isabella has interned with the Marist Center for Sports Communications, the New York Boulders, and most recently with the NFL.

Christian is a senior from New Jersey, majoring in Communication with concentrations in sports communications, journalism and public relations. Christian joined Center Field as a freshman, and will be the men’s basketball beat reporter for the second consecutive season later this fall.
Jarod Rodriguez • Director of Social Media
Jarod is a senior from Connecticut, majoring in Sports Communication and Advertising at Marist. He is the co-host/creator of the NYFlyZone Podcast and will be head of social media at Center Field. Let’s go Mets! Eli>Brady. Rap and sneaker enthusiast.
Gabrielle Bean • Multimedia Director, Graphic Designer
Gabrielle is a senior from Minnesota majoring in Sports Communication, with a double minor in Business and Graphic Design. With experience in announcing, writing, editing, digital design and more, she hopes her career will take her on the route of football working in Client Relations and the opportunity of agency. But for now, she is finding plenty of growth opportunities at Marist.

Leander Schaerlaeckens • Faculty Advisor
Leander Schaerlaeckens is a Professional Lecturer in Sports Communication at Marist and serves as the faculty advisor to Center Field. He’s also the soccer columnist at Yahoo Sports and previously worked at ESPN and FOX Sports. His writing has appeared in the New York Times and ESPN The Magazine and was twice noted in the Best American Sports Writing anthology.
