Jonathan is a senior Communications major with concentrations in Sports Communications and Journalism and a minor in History. He loves writing long-form stories but he also has a soft spot for a good opinion piece. Being from Syracuse, he is a tortured Orange basketball fan and also stands by the fact that Poughkeepsie is not even close to Upstate New York.

Ricardo is a senior from Princeton, New Jersey, studying Sports Communication and Journalism with a minor in Psychology. His favorite teams are the Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia 76ers, and Real Madrid and hopes to work for or cover one of these teams in the future or work for ESPN.

Isabella is a senior Communications and History double major with a concentration in Sports Communications from Yorktown Heights, New York. Isabella joined Center Field during her sophomore year, reporting for the men’s lacrosse team and also serves as secretary for the Women’s Club Lacrosse team. She also works on the MCTV sports segment, “Halftime on the Hudson.” Isabella has interned with the Marist Center for Sports Communications, the New York Boulders, and most recently with the NFL.

Jarod is a junior from Connecticut, majoring in Sports Communication and Advertising at Marist. He is the co-host/creator of the NYFlyZone Podcast and will be head of social media at Center Field. Let’s go Mets! Eli>Brady Rap and sneaker enthusiast.
Gabrielle Bean • Multimedia Director, Graphic Designer
Gabrielle is a junior from Minnesota majoring in Sports Communication, with a double minor in Business and Graphic Design. With experience in announcing, writing, editing, digital design and more, she hopes her career will take her on the route of football working in Client Relations and the opportunity of agency. But for now, she is finding plenty of growth opportunities at Marist.

Leander Schaerlaeckens • Faculty Advisor
Leander Schaerlaeckens is a Professional Lecturer in Sports Communication at Marist and serves as the faculty advisor to Center Field. He’s also the soccer columnist at Yahoo Sports and previously worked at ESPN and FOX Sports. His writing has appeared in the New York Times and ESPN The Magazine and was twice noted in the Best American Sports Writing anthology.
