Meaghan is a senior at Marist studying Sports Communication and Journalism. She has interned with Macmillan Learning, Baseball Miracles, and the Marist Center for Sports Communication. She enjoys competing on the Marist Ski Team and correcting everyone’s grammar. Meaghan’s dream job is to be a sports editor.
Will Bjarnar • Deputy Editor-in-Chief
Will is a junior studying Journalism and Sports Communication. Currently an intern with the Center for Sports Communication, Will has had a love for the industry since he first heard Jim Nantz say “Hello, friends.” He also has intern experience at ESPN Radio Rochester, and is currently a member of the Society of Professional Journalists. His personal feature blog covers all sports, as well as pop culture. In the future, Will aspires to both write and host a podcast. But first, Pearl Jam.
Lily Caffrey-Levine • Managing Editor
Center Field didn’t need Zip Recruiter to find Lily, but they could have! Lily is a junior Sports Communication and Journalism major. After studying abroad in Florence, Italy, she decided to take up minors in Political Science and Global Studies, and is now a member of the Ski Team and the Marist chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Growing up in the bustling sports scene in Boston, her love for sports has extended into reporting. Lily has previously interned in the digital department at NBC Sports.

Oscar is a senior from San Francisco, studying Sports Communication at Marist. He has two years of playing for the Marist men’s club rugby team under his belt, and would like to go into broadcast or print journalism in the future.
Daniel Statile • Social Media Director • Men’s Soccer Beat Writer
Daniel is a junior studying Business Administration-Marketing while minoring in Sports Communication. He covers the New York Red Bulls for Last Word on Sports and is active on campus as an Ambassador and Tour Guide.
Chris Glogan • Multimedia Director
Chris is a senior Public Relations and Advertising major with a minor in Digital Video Production. He is also in the process of completing a dual graduate degree during his undergrad for Integrated Marketing Communications. Chris has had multiple internships where he has worked intensely in video marketing, social media content managing, and production.
Molly Street • Engagement Editor
Molly is a senior studying Sports Communication with a minor in Global Studies. She is the current manager and head of social media for Marist Hockey, and is active on campus in the school’s chapters of Best Buddies and Autism Speaks. Molly has previously interned for the Marist Athletics communication department.

David is a senior studying Sports Communication and Journalism. He has experience with the Red Fox Network on ESPN3 and WRGB in Albany. David hopes to enter the field of sportswriting and producing.

Dave is a sophomore at Marist College majoring in sports communication with a minor in business. He is a captain of the Marist Club Ultimate Frisbee team and loves basketball and soccer. He has previously interned for Martinelli Custom Publishing and hopes to get a journalistic or sports business internship soon.

Tommy is a senior at Marist College majoring in sports communications. Previously, he has interned for the Marist College Sports information department. In the future, Tommy hopes to explore a career in the sports industry.

Alex is a sophomore Sports Communication major. Prior to Marist, he covered soccer for his high school newspaper. Slated to travel to Russia for the World Cup, Alex aspires to cover soccer professionally one day.

Kristin is a sophomore at Marist College pursuing a degree in Communications Advertising with a minor in Graphic Design. Born and raised in New York City, she has a passion for both viewing and creating art. As she studies at Marist, she hopes to bring this creativity into her studies and one day into the workplace.

Nick, a sophomore, studies Sports Communication. He’s been in love with sports since day one, and hopes to eventually find himself in the broadcast booth.

Amelia is a junior from Vermont studying Public Relations and Art History. Her long-standing interest in snowboarding and skiing, coupled with her position on the Marist Ski Team, gives her unique insight to the competitive nature of Marist Athletics. Amelia has also interned with several notable organizations such as The Rosen Group in NYC, Barrett Arts Center, and the Hildene Museum. She hopes to be spending her summer working for Marist Abroad and interning in Cold Spring at Magazzino Museum.

Brett is a sophomore at Marist College majoring in sports communication and minoring in business. He has a passion for sports, as well as telling stories about athletes. Co-host of a weekly football podcast, talking sports is one of his favorite pastimes. In the future he hopes to get a job in the business side of sports

Mitch is a sophomore Sports Communication major at Marist College from Ivoryton, Conn. His dream job is to have his own sports talk show and do commentating for various sports. Mitch’s role models in the sports broadcasting industry are Chris Collinsworth and Scott Van Pelt. Mitch has teamed up with Center Field staff writer Brett Middleton to produce a weekly NFL Podcast.

Kelsey is a junior pursuing a degree in Political Science while minoring in Sports Communication. She currently serves as the assistant manager of the Men’s Club Hockey team, and hopes to write about one of her favorite New York sports teams in the future.

Carter is a sophomore Sports Communication major from Honolulu with additional interest in business. He would love the opportunity to work in the sports industry, especially at the University of Hawai’i or for one of his favorite teams: the Yankees, Lakers, or Broncos.

Rob is a junior at Marist studying Sports Communication and Public Relations with a minor in Digital Video Production. He recently interned with MLB Advanced Media and one day hopes to work in the sports industry. Rob is also the proud founder of the Marist club baseball team.

Allison is a sophomore at Marist, majoring in Advertising and Math with a minor in Photography. She has additional experience in both photography in writing with The Circle and was the photographer for her high school’s lacrosse and soccer teams.

Leander Schaerlaeckens • Faculty Advisor
Leander Schaerlaeckens is a Professional Lecturer in Sports Communication at Marist and serves as the faculty advisor to Center Field. He’s also the soccer columnist at Yahoo Sports and previously worked at ESPN and FOX Sports. His writing has appeared in the New York Times and ESPN The Magazine and was twice noted in the Best American Sports Writing anthology.
