The game started off with something out of the ordinary, in Siena’s dugout a mysterious winged creature had made a home above the team’s bench.
With winds strong enough to knock your hat off, the Red Foxes took the field for their second doubleheader in three days. Marist battled against the University of Hartford Hawks in which they split the doubleheader Wednesday.
While Phippen was keeping Iona swinging, it was the thievery of Marist sophomore Caroline Baratta that won them the game. As Ali Milam stole second in the bottom of the first, Baratta snuck home on a double steal to give the Red Foxes the lead.

On an abnormally nice day in late March, most of Marist’s second game of MAAC play was played in the colder shade of the Gartland Athletic Field. After a dominant defensive inning, the sun came out bright in the bottom of the fifth, as did the Red Foxes.
