Marist soccer games should be the most widely attended games at this college. With their success and exciting style of play, it would make sense for men’s and women’s soccer to draw larger crowds than they currently are. So why aren’t they?

Even though the Red Foxes lost today, they finished the season with a total of 35 wins. This is the third most in a season in the program’s history. The other two years happened during the senior’s time at Marist, winning 45 games in 2016, and then 37 games in 2017. This makes the senior class one of the most successful for the program thus far.

In the team’s third MAAC championship victory, Tierney was named the Most Outstanding Player of the game. The Red Foxes will advance to the NCAA tournament, where they will play an opponent to be determined in Sunday night’s selection show, which will occur at 9 p.m. on ESPNU.
Marist and Quinnipiac faced off for the second-straight year in the MAAC Championship, and in similar fashion to last year, Quinnipiac’s Jen Fay dominated to help Quinnipiac defeat Marist 81-51 Monday at the Times Union Center in Albany.
“Probably one of the top five wins that I have had in my 17 years,” said Giorgis, who has led his team to 10 MAAC titles and five NCAA Tournament victories.
In Marist’s 65-51 victory over Manhattan in the MAAC quarterfinals on Saturday, Alana Gilmer continued her dominance in the tournament play.
After a hard fought, overtime effort in what would be their four seniors’ last game, Marist’s season came to an unfortunate end in a 71-68 loss at the hands of St. Peter’s. The Peacocks, Marist head coach John Dunne’s old team, will advance to take on top-seeded Iona in the second round.
After finishing the regular season with a 12-18 record, the Marist Men’s Basketball Team will take on St. Peter’s in the MAAC Tournament on Thursday Mar. 6 at 5 p.m.
