Megan made the ultimate decision to go back to the game that had been her and her father’s favorite bonding experience, but she didn’t just do it for him, but for herself as well. When he was still responsive in the hospital, he made sure to tell her that she needed to go back and do what she needed to do for herself, for her sport, and for her education.
With winds strong enough to knock your hat off, the Red Foxes took the field for their second doubleheader in three days. Marist battled against the University of Hartford Hawks in which they split the doubleheader Wednesday.
On an abnormally nice day in late March, most of Marist’s second game of MAAC play was played in the colder shade of the Gartland Athletic Field. After a dominant defensive inning, the sun came out bright in the bottom of the fifth, as did the Red Foxes.
Marist Softball Head Coach Joe Ausanio is returning for his 11th season with the Red Foxes and looks to lead the team to a MAAC title. “Our goal is to get back to the MAAC championship this season and win it, and I think we have a team very capable of doing that,” Ausanio said of the team’s goals for the season.
