The Marist Red Foxes earned a resounding 69-30 victory over Saint Peter’s in the MAAC Tournament Final on Saturday afternoon to punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
The women have won their seat at the table, but will they be able to leave holding the MAAC Trophy?
Marist played its most complete game of the season, dispatching Fairfield 66-50 in the first semifinal of the MAAC Tournament. The Red Foxes improve to 15-1 in the MAAC semifinals and will play in their fourth consecutive title game (not counting last year).
After 18 days off, the Red Foxes pulled out a win off of Saint Peter’s, making it their seventh straight win before the MAAC tournament.
Marist completed the sweep of I-87 rival Siena with a 60-44 win on Sunday afternoon. The victory was the sixth straight for the Red Foxes and put them three wins ahead of second-place Quinnipiac in the race for the one-seed in the MAAC Tournament.
Marist powered its way to a 69-44 win over a depleted Siena team on Saturday afternoon at the UHY Center just outside of Albany. The victory was the Red Foxes’ fifth in a row and their seventh consecutive triumph over the Saints.
