Center Stage: The Week’s Top Performers

Men’s Basketball: Senior Guard Ryan Funk led all scorers in Marist’s Sunday afternoon 86-85 loss against Rider with a career-high 32 points. Funk shot the lights out at the McCann Center going 10-of-15 from the field including going 7-of-11 from three point range. He also pulled in five rebounds and added an assist in the high scoring affair.

Women’s Basketball: Junior Guard Rebekah Hand scored a team high 19 points in Marist’s 62-42 victory over Saint Peter’s last Friday. Hand also stacked the rest of her stat sheet with four assists, four rebounds, two steals, and a block in the winning effort.

Men’s Track: Senior Andrew Burns had a very successful day at the John Thomas Terrier Invitational at Boston University last Saturday by qualifying for the IC4A Indoor Championship in multiple events. Burns finished with a personal record in the 1000 meter race with a time of 2:27.52 that landed him 15th overall in the event. He also finished in third place in the 3200 meter relay alongside Brian Henderson, Matthew Hawkerm, and Christopher Tibbetts.
Men’s Swimming and Diving: Senior Daniel Knoll racked up multiple first place finishes in Marist’s victory over Bryant on Saturday. Knoll won the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 21.18 seconds and won the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 46.58 seconds.
