Center Stage: The Week’s Top Performers

Center Stage is back for more! It was another busy week in the world of Marist sports. Vote for who you think the best Red Fox was on our social media polls.

Football: Freshman quarterback Brock Bagozzi filled in admirably for Austin Day in Marist’s 34-17 loss to Bryant at Tenney Stadium on Saturday night. Bagozzi completed 20 of his 37 attempts for 211 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. It’s unclear when Day will return to the lineup, but the true freshman offers the Red Foxes a solid second option. Redshirt junior wide receiver Dwayne Menders continued his stellar start, tying the school record with 12 receptions and finishing with 144 yards and a touchdown.

Women’s Soccer: Sophomore midfielder Amanda Caldarelli scored two goals in three minutes to push Marist past Saint Peter’s on Sunday at Tenney Stadium. Caldarelli scored in the 61st and 63rd minutes both off feeds from her housemate Bridget Dudziec.

Volleyball: The Red Foxes swept weekend home matches against Manhattan and Iona, taking six out of the seven sets they played. Sophomore Jordan Newblatt combined for 31 kills over the two games, including a 20 kill performance to go along with 21 digs against Iona.
