Center Stage: The Week’s Top Performers

It was a very successful weekend for the Red Foxes. Here are the candidates for this week’s Center Stage

Football: Redshirt senior running back Mekhai Johnson had an electrifying day in Marist’s 20-17 win at Dayton on Saturday afternoon. Johnson had a busy second quarter, running for a touchdown and returning a kickoff to the house for six more points. He finished with 183 all-purpose yards for the game.

Men’s Soccer: The Red Foxes had a stellar week, combining for seven goals in home wins against Iona and Manhattan. Junior midfielder Stefan Copetti extended his scoring streak to seven matches in a row with goals in both wins. 

Volleyball: Marist downed Siena in straight sets on Saturday to move to 7-3 in MAAC play. Freshman libero Jillian Hanna played one of the best matches of her young career, finishing with five aces and 11 digs in the win.

Men’s Diving: Junior diver Tyler Wenzel swept the one and three-meter boards in Marist’s win over Canisius at McCann Natatorium on Friday. The meet marked swimming and diving’s first official competitive event since early 2020.
