It was another strong weekend for Marist Athletics. The football team lost a heartbreaker to Morehead State, but the other fall sports all had solid weeks. Here’s a look at who stood out.
Football: Redshirt senior quarterback Austin Day led the Red Foxes in passing and rushing in Marist’s 27-24 loss to Morehead State on Saturday afternoon. Day threw for 202 yards and a touchdown and added 94 more yards and another score on the ground. His 296 total yards were a season-high.
Men’s Soccer: Marist only scored one goal in two games last week, but walked away undefeated, with a 1-0 against conference-leading Monmouth and a scoreless draw at Siena. Grad student Kyle Galloway scored the winner against the Hawks in the 77th minute on Wednesday. The Red Foxes sit on top of the MAAC with 16 points.
Women’s Soccer: The women matched the men with a win over Monmouth and a scoreless tie last week. Sophomore Amanda Caldarelli scored a crucial second for Marist in the 65th minute against the Hawks.
