Marist women’s lacrosse goalies coach Kendall Vecchio has been placed on administrative leave after being arrested on Wednesday.
During the women’s lacrosse game on March 2 against LIU, newly hired assistant coach Kendall Vecchio was noticeably absent from the sidelines.
Additionally, he has been removed from the team’s coaches’ section on Marist Athletics website.
According to Anthony Proia, the Director of Media Relations for the college said that the assistant coach is currently on administrative leave and cannot comment on any personnel reasons.
Vecchio was a graduate of Le Moyne College, where he was the face off specialist for their men’s team. Vecchio won a national championship with the Dolphins in 2018. He was hired by Marist in 2021 and had been working with the goalies on the Red Foxes team before his leave.
This is a developing story and Center Field will publish more information as it becomes available.
UPDATE: MARCH 4
Center Field has been made aware of Vecchio’s public arrest record from Mar. 2, 2022. We have reached out to the Public Defender’s phone number listed on the record for more information at this time. A court appearance has been scheduled for Vecchio on Mar. 21, 2022.
