On Tuesday afternoon, it was announced on social media that MAAC Rookie of the Year Jao Ituka was entering the transfer portal. The 6-foot-1 guard from Gaithersburg, MD has yet to announce the news via his own social media accounts, but entering the portal for the player was confirmed by Verbal Commits on Twitter.
In his first and only season with the Red Foxes, the freshman averaged a team-high 15.3 points per game, which ranked third in the conference. Ituka was named to the All-MAAC Second Team, winning the MAAC Rookie of the Week honor nine times throughout the season.
Last Thursday, the guard was named a finalist for the Kyle Macy Award, which is given to the top freshman in Division I men’s college basketball by College Insider. Ituka is on a list that includes Duke forward Paolo Banchero, Gonzaga forward Chet Holmgren and Auburn forward Jabari Smith among others.
Ricardo Wright, Matt Herasme, Braden Bell, and Raheim Sullivan, were the first four to enter the portal, with Samkelo Cele following shortly after. Ituka is now the sixth Marist player saying goodbye to the Red Foxes.

Dunne should go in the transfer portal too. Obvious he is a terrible coach who NO ONE wants to play for. Wake up Marist Admin! How do you feel about his contract extension now?
