Jones Set to Begin Professional Career in Germany

Former Marist center Jordan Jones has signed with the WWU Baskets Muenster in Germany. The team announced the news via their social media pages in late July.

WWU Baskets Muenster plays in the ProA, which is the second-tier of professional club basketball in Germany. The team earned promotion from the ProB (third-tier of German basketball) after a 21-1 regular season record last year. The WWU Baskets were swept by Orange Academy Ratiopharm in second round of the playoffs, ending their 2021-22 season.

Jones began his collegiate career at Charleston Southern before transferring to Marist prior to the 2018-19 season. After sitting out that year, he went on to play three seasons with the Red Foxes. Jones played in a total of 81 games during his time at Marist, averaging 8.4 points per game, 4.3 rebounds per game and 1.16 blocks per game.

The 6-foot-8 center came back to the program for the 2021-22 season, returning to the team as a graduate student. Jones played in all 30 games, averaging 7.7 points per game and 3.9 rebounds per game. He ranked second in the MAAC with a .620 field goal percentage and fifth with 1.2 blocks per game.

Jones was also involved off the court at Marist, being named to the NABC Community Assist team, an award given to just ten players in the country. He also served as the director of engagement for Marist’s Black-Student Athlete Alliance and traveled to the Black-Student Athlete Summit in Austin Texas back in 2019.

Jones is one of three former college players joining WWU Baskets for the upcoming season, the others being Connor Harding from Utah Valley University and Darien Jackson from the University of Tulsa.

WWU Baskets will begin its season on Oct. 2 with an away game against Hagen as Jones will look to establish himself in the professional ranks.
