February is a busy time of the year for the MAAC Championships, but Marist had some exciting headlines throughout the shortest month of the year. Read a recap of Marist performances in the 2025 MAAC Indoor Track and Field championships from Feb. 22 to Feb. 23.
Rookie Trocolar Triumphs, Men Finish Fifth in Track and Field
While earning a fifth place finish at the 2025 MAAC men’s Indoor Track and Field Championships (the Red Foxes highest-placing finish of all time in the MAAC), the Red Foxes fittingly racked up five medals–including golds in the 400-meter final and distance medley relay–in the pinnacle event week of the indoor track season.
Leading the charge for the Red Foxes, freshman standout Ryan Trocolar earned Rookie of the Meet honors at the championships with the gold medal in the 400-meter final (48.66, Marist record).
Day one of the MAACs brought instant action, with the DMR relay team (freshman Logan Schaeffler, freshman Miles Chamberlain, freshman Simeon Washington and sophomore Raffi Buchakjian) taking home the gold with a time of 10:05.75.
Trocolar also snagged a silver medal in the 4×400-meter relay finals ( 3:17.09, Marist record), along with graduate student Easton Eberwein, senior Reed Dexter and freshman Simeon Washington.
In the same 400-meter race that propelled Trocolar towards the rookie high honors, Eberwein followed just behind with a bronze medal (48.96, personal record).
With success in the 400-meter events, Marist also took home hardware in a second relay event with a bronze medal in the 4×800-meter relays; Chamberlain and Schaeffler received their second medals of the meet, teaming up with freshman Joaquin Bell-Andrade and sophomore Matthew Ferreri for the win.
Silver Shines Through for women’s 4×800-Meter Relay, Finish Eighth in MAAC
Junior Sierra Fisher, freshman Rebecca Maclaren, sophomore Grace Fletcher and redshirt freshman Julianna Mirabile took home the sole hardware for the Marist women’s track and field team at the 2025 MAAC Indoor Championships. With a time of 9:16.28, the relay team secured points to land Marist at the No. 8 finish of 11 teams in the MAAC championships.
Despite no other medals, Marist broke multiple school records at the event, including freshman Alex Samperi in the 60-meter dash (7.89) and freshman Jenna Borseille in shotput (9.92 meters, later breaking her own record at the Last-Chance Invite with 9.98 meters).
The women’s 4×400 meters team also set a school record with a time of 3:58.48 (freshman Julia Kropo, junior Breelyn McNamara, sophomore Kate Beebe and freshman Isabella Milojevic). Rider took home the MAAC title for the third consecutive year.
