Marist men’s soccer (5-0-2,1-0-0 MAAC) has earned its first-ever Top-25 ranking in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, entering at 20. The Red Foxes are undefeated on the year and recently took down conference rival Quinnipiac 5-2 at home.
Last week, Marist received four votes in the poll, which was not enough to crack the list. After two wins this past week, they climb up to 20. Marist is the only MAAC school to be ranked in the past few seasons, with Quinnipiac receiving votes in 2021.
“It cements what these guys have done,” said head coach Matt Viggiano about receiving national recognition after Marist’s 1-0 win over Lehigh.
“It goes to show the talent that we have, the grit and the work we’ve put in,” added graduate student goaltender Jamie Lowell.

Marist has not lost at home this year, sitting at 2-0-1 with a pair of shutouts and six goals. On the road, the Red Foxes are 3-0-1 with eight goals scored to only four conceded. Marist is one of 13 undefeated teams in the Top 25.
Freshman attacker Adriano Iannello leads the Red Foxes in points with nine after having scored three and assisted three. He recently earned MAAC Rookie of the Week honors alongside junior midfielder Kyle Evans, who earned Offensive Player of the Week after a two-goal performance against Quinnipiac.
Marist resumes play this Saturday as they travel to take on Mount St. Mary’s. Kick off is set for 4 p.m.
