BREAKING: Marist Hires Annie DeLoid as Next Volleyball Head Coach

Marist women’s volleyball officially ended its near two month search for its next head coach on Monday, as they announced Annie DeLoid as its next head coach.

DeLoid, a graduate of Framingham State University in 2016, where she played middle and outside hitter, spent the last four seasons at Union College in Schenectady, N.Y. Previously, she worked as a full-time assistant women’s volleyball coach at Stevens Institute of Technology for three years, and two years as an assistant coach at Averett University.

At Union, the Garnet Chargers went 67-48 and 15-17 in the Liberty League, a Division III conference. DeLoid was hired by Union on April 25, 2022, in the wake of a 5-19 2021 season. A year later, DeLoid’s squad won 13 games. Four years later, they were a top team in the conference, going 22-9 and 7-1 against Liberty League opponents.

Deloid now inherits a young but experienced Marist roster; all but two Red Foxes are returning for the 2026 season: setter Claire Lewis, who graduated, and Eden Bristow, a sophomore outside hitter who entered the transfer portal and landed at Stetson.

At all times, Marist had multiple freshmen on the court. Outside hitter Mallory Reck emerged as one of the Red Foxes’ most complete players. She earned MAAC All-Rookie Team honors and developed a strong connection with Caelyn Dumas, a freshman setter who appeared in all 30 of Marist’s matches.

Freshmen Eleana Koute and Ava Lanzetta also played key roles for the Red Foxes in 2025. Both playing right-side hitter, Koute’s 6-foot-4 frame and at times lethal swing made her an intimidating force. Lanzetta, a more well-balanced player, became one of Marist’s most consistent options.

Familiar faces such as Sara Dasic, who will be a senior next year, led the team in kills and was named to the All-MAAC Second Team and Sarah Bumstead, a middle blocker who has appeared in nearly every set for the Red Foxes in her first two seasons, will also come back as upper classmen leaders.

The pieces are in place for DeLoid to build a contender, and given her track record at Union, it’s not a far-fetched thought to imagine the Red Foxes returning to the MAAC Tournament in 2026.
