Marist Brings in Nine Players, Six Freshmen for 2026-27 Season

In a release on Friday, Marist men’s basketball announced nine new players that will join the program for the upcoming season. The group joins four returners: graduate student guard Jadin Collins-Roberts, junior center Tarik Watson, sophomore forward Myles Parker and sophomore center Jordan Gabriel.

After graduating five players and losing five more to the transfer portal, the class marks the most new players for the Red Foxes since 2022-23. It also features six freshmen for the first time since 2017-18, the season prior to head coach John Dunne’s hire. Eight of the nine players come from previous schools—either high school or college—in the Northeast.

Below is a brief look at each newcomer.

Guards

Jack Graham — Senior — University of New Hampshire

Marist will be the third collegiate home for Graham, who is listed as a guard but has had plenty of run as a small forward as well. At Milton Academy in Massachusetts, he won Class A Co-Player of the year and a NEPSAC championship during his senior season.

He began his collegiate career at Richmond, where he played very little during his freshman and sophomore seasons before carving out a bigger role at New Hampshire last season. He ranked in the top 20 in the America East Conference with 11.2 points per game and also averaged over a steal per game.

Graham shot a slightly inefficient 41% from the field and 32.2% from deep as a Wildcat, but could be poised to play a significant role as a more experienced player on a young Red Foxes’ team.

Josh Williams — Junior — Coastal Alabama South

Williams is coming off an outstanding season at the JUCO level with Coastal Alabama South. He averaged a stellar 24.6 points per game—a top-five mark in NJCAA Division I—while shooting nearly 50% from the field and 37.2% from deep. He scored 43 points on Feb. 16 and picked up over two steals and nearly six rebounds per contest.

An ACCC Conference First-Team selection last year, Williams was regarded as a Top 100 JUCO player in the country by jucorecruiting.com

Cameron Sweeney — Freshman — Hershey High School (PA)

Sweeney comes to Marist after a decorated career at Hershey High School, where he set the program’s scoring record with 1,457 points and also played quarterback on the school’s football team. He averaged over 25 points and three steals per contest in his final season after leading the team to the state title game as a junior.

In high school, the 6-foot-2 guard showed a propensity for using his athleticism to create his own looks and knock down jumpers from the mid-range and beyond the arc. Sweeney reclassified and verbally committed to a post-grad year at the MacDuffie School in Massachusetts before committing to Marist earlier this month.

Sweeney played on the MADE Hoops AAU circuit for Sideline Cancer.

Brandon Arnold — Freshman — Kimball Union Academy (NH)

A 6-foot-3 combo guard, Arnold is a Baldwin, New York native—the same Long Island town that former Marist guard Rhyjon Blackwell hails from. He also played on the AAU Circuit for Crown Basketball, as did Gabriel.

Arnold earned All-NEPSAC honors each of the past two seasons at Kimball Union Academy and is a highly regarded 3-point shooter, passer and defender. He is a strong shooter off both the catch and dribble and sees the court well, creating scoring opportunities for his teammates. Strong lateral quickness serves him well on both sides of the ball and allows him to interrupt passing lanes as a defender.

Dywane Chess — Freshman — St. George’s School (RI)

The consensus class of 2026 No. 1 recruit from Rhode Island, Chess may be the most highly touted member of Marist’s freshman class. He received a collection of Division I offers, including from Metro Conference foes Fairfield, Manhattan and Canisius, before committing to Marist last summer.

As a senior, Chess led St. George’s to a 27-3 record and a second consecutive ISL championship. He is a tough, physical player who uses his 6-foot-4, 200-pound frame to get to the basket, finish through traffic and fight on the glass.

Chess played his AAU ball for the Middlesex Magic, the same program as former Marist guard Justin Menard.

Brady MacAdams — Freshman — Archbishop Wood (PA)

MacAdams is a pure sharpshooter. In his junior season at Archbishop Wood, he shot 46.8% from deep while averaging 17.3 points per game. At 6-foot-5, he also brings a physical presence around the basket and an ability to score in transition.

His development happened quickly. As a sophomore, MacAdams was primarily a role player. He broke onto the scene the following year, earning All-PCL First Team honors alongside reigning Metro Player and Rookie of the Year Kevair Kennedy.

The Red Foxes will be looking for new players to pick up the slack from beyond the arc, where MacAdams could prove useful. Parker shot well from deep last season, but Blackwell, Menard, Parby Kabamba and Elijah Lewis represented the rest of Marist’s 3-point attack—each of them has graduated or transferred.

Wings

Edward Onyia — Sophomore — Saint Anselm

A Leicester, United Kingdom native, Onyia played his freshman year at Division II Saint Anselm in New Hampshire. There, he earned Northeast-10 Rookie of the Year honors while averaging 11.5 points and 6.4 rebounds. He shot a very efficient 52.2% from the field.

Onyia also has spent time playing internationally for Great Britain. In the 2025-26 U20 European Championship, he averaged 11.6 points and 9.1 rebounds including a 15 point, 16 rebound performance against Portugal. Onyia should help Marist on the glass in its first season without Jaden Daughtry, who led the program in rebounding each of the past three seasons.

Logan Rodriguez — Freshman — Albany Academy

Rodriguez reclassified to 2026 and committed to Marist in May. At 6-foot-9, he is an athletic stretch four that can score at each level and make an impact on the boards. Rodriguez had three Division I offers—the others came from Iona and Albany.

He played AAU ball for Albany based City Rocks.

Centers

Logan Franz — Freshman — Rutgers Prep

Dunne is establishing a bit of a Rutgers Prep pipeline as Franz joins Collins-Roberts and Parker as current Marist players to come out of the New Jersey program. Former Marist guard Noah Harris also played for Rutgers Prep.

As a true center, there is a real chance for Franz to impact the Red Foxes this season. Watson should be in line to start at the position, but Franz may be in position to compete with Gabriel for backup minutes. Even if Gabriel takes the bulk of that time, Franz will likely find his way onto the floor from time to time as a freshman between foul trouble and Watson’s injury history.

Listed at 6-foot-11, Franz is the tallest Marist player since Patrick Gardner, who last played for the Red Foxes in 2022-23.
