After a brief break Center Stage is back and ready to wrap up the semester strong!
Men’s Basketball: Sophomore guard Ricardo Wright struggled in the close loss at home to Iona on Wednesday, but came in Marist’s 79-67 win at Rider on Sunday. He dazzled with 27 points on 10-of-17 shooting, hitting four triples along the way. If he can perform a little more consistently, he will be in the conversation as one of the best guards in the MAAC.
Women’s Basketball: It’s been a struggle for the Marist women. Injuries and COVID-19 have them down to just eight available players. Sophomore point guard Kiara Fisher scored in double-digits in both games this week, including 19 against Columbia on Sunday.
Men’s Track and Field: Freshman Lukas Bosetti broke a 48-year-old school record in the long jump with an effort of 22 feet, 6.5 inches. He edged Tim Murphy’s record by three inches. It was set all the way back in 1973.
Women’s Diving: Graduate student Grace Reeves continues to impress from the platform. The three-time MAAC Diver of the Week won her fourth straight meet at the H20unds Invitational in Maryland.
