Sophomore midfielder Sebastian Rzeczycki has been selected to the Poland National Lacrosse team to compete in the 2025 European Men’s Lacrosse Championship from July 9-19.
Rzeczycki played in one game as a freshman at Marist, getting a shot off in their game at Air Force. Before Marist, Rzeczycki played at Princeton Day School in New Jersey, where he collected a whopping total of 261 career points. Twice a Nike National Team New Jersey Member, the midfielder was also named to the 2023 Trenton Times All-Area and All-County First Team.
The tournament, taking place for the first time since 2016, features 25 teams split into five groups – Poland is in Group B along with Ukraine, Spain, Czechia and Germany. England has won the tournament four times in a row, as well as nine of the last ten.
The tournament serves as a qualifier for the 2027 World Lacrosse Championships, set to take place in Japan. Seven teams from the European Lacrosse Federation get a bid to the 16-team tournament.
Poland, the hosts, open up the tournament on July 9 against Czechia at 11 a.m. EST. They take on Spain two days later at 9:50 a.m., before playing Germany the next day in the night’s main matchup at 11:30 a.m. They round out their group schedule with a match against Ukraine on July 12 at 11:20 a.m.
