In the team’s third MAAC championship victory, Tierney was named the Most Outstanding Player of the game. The Red Foxes will advance to the NCAA tournament, where they will play an opponent to be determined in Sunday night’s selection show, which will occur at 9 p.m. on ESPNU.
On a warm Thursday night, Marist faced off against MAAC foe Canisius in the semifinal Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) tournament game in front of a ruckus crowd of students and parents. Marist ultimately took the victory with a close score of 11-10.

On the same day of Goerne’s passing on Feb. 16, the Marist Men’s Lacrosse team played the U.S. Air Force academy in Colorado. Typically, Goerne had been coming to all of Marist’s games out in the area in the past. He may not have physically made this one, but in spirit he was cheering for the Red Foxes in the stands.
The No. 34 has long been a very important number to the Marist men’s lacrosse team and the coaching staff. The team has a tradition each year to honor No. 34, once donned by former player Edward Coombs, who died in a car crash years ago.
